Who we are

JR-TP is a town planning consultancy that helps make the planning process clearer, calmer, and more manageable — whether you’re working on a small development or a more complex scheme.

The practice is led by Jen Roberts, a chartered town planner with over 15 years’ experience and a strong track record of securing planning outcomes on projects across the UK. Clients work directly with Jen and benefit from straightforward advice, sound judgement, and steady guidance from start to finish. She previously worked at JLL and Vail Williams LLP, where she gained extensive experience advising on a wide range of developments, and now brings that expertise into an independent, client-focused practice.

JR-TP supports projects across the UK, with particular experience in London, the South East and the Midlands. Jen has advised on everything from modest residential developments to major mixed-use and regeneration schemes, including commercial and industrial projects. Every project is approached on its own merits, with planning strategies tailored to the site, the local authority, and the wider context.

The focus is on honest, proportionate advice — explaining what’s achievable, what the risks are, and how best to move forward. Working collaboratively with clients, councils, consultants and communities JR-TP aims to keep projects moving and avoid unnecessary delays.

JR-TP is focused on taking the uncertainty out of planning, working closely with clients to provide clear advice and steady support so projects can move forward with confidence.

Outside of JR-TP, Jen is a busy mum to William and identical twin girls, Elizabeth and Juliet. She has a long-standing passion for singing and has performed with the Da Capo Chamber Choir in Warwick, as well as previously singing with Suzi Digby OBE’s choir Voce in London. She is also a keen swimmer and cyclist, and has taken part in many triathlon events, including completing a half Ironman in Mallorca.
